This is a 4-day training module. After successful completion of this module, the attendee will be awarded a certificate from Scaffold Training Institute USA. The attendee will be recognized as Competent Person for inspection as per OSHA Standards.

Certification Span – Types of Scaffoldings

The training certifies inspectors for the following types of Scaffolds:

  • Frame type
  • Tube and Coupler type
  • System Scaffold
  • Suspended Scaffold

The training has the capacity to cover all four types of scaffold mentioned above. The customer has the flexibility to include any or all of the types of scaffolds. We recommend choosing the type of scaffold that is used on project sites. Mostly, Tube and Coupler type scaffold are used in Pakistan Industry.

Course Content
  • Overview of the 25 types of scaffolds in the OSHA regulations
  • Overview of OSHA requirements.
  • General safety requirements (foundations, fall protection, platforms, etc.)
  • Recommended step by step Scaffold assembly procedures. It is primarily classroom with walk by discussion of actual scaffold displays (subjected to availability of displays on customer sites).
  • Field trip/hands on training
  • Inspection of completed scaffolds
  • Planning a scaffold job
  • Design of Scaffolds
  • Drawings
  • Material Calculation – including how to determine what size scaffold is needed, how to do scaffold drawings, how to calculate the scaffold material required, and how to calculate the weights on the scaffold planks, bearers, couplers, and posts (leg load). It also covers typical manufacturers allowable loading.
  • Powered suspended scaffolds. Topics included are single and two point suspended scaffold, rigging equipment, counterweight formula, and related topics.
  • Advanced training including assembly of underhung (hanging) tube & coupler, cantilevering (knee out), frame scaffolds with putlog trusses and stairways.

Customer Site.

Facilities

Facilities needed to conduct training at customer site include provision of a traditional classroom setting, meeting room or other similar facility for the number of participants, plus two extra. Adequate seating and writing space should be provided for each participant. Lighting, ventilation and heating or cooling should be checked and set to ensure a comfortable learning environment. The equipment needed to conduct the course in this setting include, bu not limited to a: Chalkboard or marker board with serviceable markers or suitable substitute, flip chart with serviceable markers, TV and a projector.
